Sharing dreams

People who are aware of their dreams and contemplate them usually come to the conclusion that their dreams speak to them from a multi level platform. Dreams are complex and dynamic and the interpretation depends on the effort you put into it.

  • Initially the dreamer wonders and talks about the pictures, story line and what was said and happened during the dream.
  • When the emotions are disturbing or conflict with the dream itself, the dreamer begins to consider the meaning of these emotions he or she experienced, i.e. they were in fairyland but had a heavy feeling or you were apprehensive for no apparent reason OR you are in grave danger but you experience no fear.
  • Colours, numbers, symbols and names can also stand out in dreams - they reveal deeper layers and could point the dreamer into yet other directions.
  • The people and animals that appear in your dreams reveal yet a different facet of your life and who you are.
  • Finally sharing your dreams with friends or like minded people also reveals the opinion of others and what your dream might mean to them. Giving you a new angle on a different interpretation. They cannot interpret your symbols (you are the author of your own dreams and the symbols are familiar to you), but they might see something in your dream that you overlooked and could also be pertinent to your story.

Death and destruction

People often make the following mistakes when they dream disturbing dreams; of death and destruction they infer it literally to imply a premonition of the person in the dream’s eminent death or very bad tidings. In actual fact it can mean anything from the ending of a phase or project to new beginning and new opportunities.

AND

Nightmares and Repeat dreams

Nightmares and dreams that repeat from time to time occur because they want to draw your attention to something. They are disturbing or repetitive because of an important issue you need to consider in your life. You should always try to finish the nightmare – it does not matter how disturbing it is – the end of the dream gives you the message in no uncertain terms.

Can my dreams add to my spiritual development?

I have this dream that keeps on coming; I dream that there is a Tsunami, where I could see big ocean waves coming towards land and killing people. I would see people drowning and screaming, but each and every time when it is about the reach where I am the waves would stop and sometimes the water would only touch my feet and every disruption would stop.

    Dear Nesihe

Let's just look at this first - water is emotions.

    What are your emotions during the dream;
Are you fearful or are you just observing?
Have you read anything about tsunamis or something disastrous?
Do you live near the coast?
Do you know the people in your dream?

The little you tell me about the dream I get the feeling that you fear that something inevitable is about to happen. (A tsunami is unstoppable and everybody is in danger.) Then your subconscious kicks in and assures you that everything is okay and you are safe. It could also be telling you that if you stay calm the "tsunami" (whatever you are fearing) will subside of its own accord in good time. It could also tell you that it is important for you to be there when the "tsunami" stikes.

    Love and light

I had quite a disturbing dream recently, where I went into a huge old house, with 2 or 3 levels. It was night and when I entred I was met with ghosts or spirits or demons. They were trying to entice me towards them and I felt very afraid. There were many of them, human in apprearance but dark. Everything was dark. As I progressed through the house, they would continue to try and draw me closer. At one part in the dream I read a passage in a book that told me to use a phrase, something like "life and living". I am not quite sure the exact words as I cant remember them. When I said this to them, they became friendly and I was not longer scared. Later in the dream, this phrase stopped working and I became scared again. To such a point that I dropped to my knees and shouted out to God to protect me. At this point they scurried away and then my dream ended.

    What would this mean?

    Dear Moscat

    Hmmm, this is very complex.

    1. A house represents your life:
    a) Huge old house – either you are an old soul or have experienced a lot of aspects of life.
    b) 2 or 3 levels – you have different levels of awareness.

    2. Ghosts, spirits or demons – This is difficult to explain. We all have good and bad in us. When you develop spiritually you harness your dark side to strengthen your good side. It is when we accept who we are in totality that we begin to live life. When we deny or suppress our dark side – we only allow ourselves to be half a person.
    3. We fear what we are capable of but controlling our darkness we usually find ways of using it to better ourselves and serve others positively. The darkness of our character appears darker because we fear.
    4. Your magic words “life and living” shows you that you can negate the negative. You are stronger than the darkness.
    5. When the magic stopped working you dropped to your knees and found something even bigger and better to work with.

I always seem to dream that i am pregnant and that i have a son of 6 years old that always seem to punch or slap me on my tummy and then i would tell him he must stop hurting his little sisters.
and then i would tell him that we must go and do his homework.
then the dream jumps to where i go into labor and that is the spot in the dream that always seem to change then im in a hall with people i love then im in town or im driving or im at my aunts place.
But then in labor i move out of my body and i look how everything is happening from ontop.
    then the dream ends.

    Dear Juanitafan

I must apologize for not coming back to you sooner. I'm going to excuse myself by blaming a computer glitch. In actual fact I get out of it what I put in. I'm taking responsibility.

Your dream is quite involved but generally positive.

Your emotions in the dream (I am assuming) is very neutral – like someone observing her life.

What happened 6 years ago in your life? Do you have very urgent desires to have children? Have you taken responsibility for your life (even though you are only 20)?

Being with people you love is good - you have a support system. Driving a car is taking control of your life. If you were a passenger it would mean that you are not in control. I do not know what “town” symbolises for you – for me it is opportunity. What role has your aunt played in your life. There are aspect of who and what she is that you should work with.

Being pregnant with “sisters” would indicate to me that I am about to give birth to something unique. That I have started something approximately 6 years ago or dreamt about 6 years ago. Also - I need to do some homework before the birth of this new idea. That I must become more “hands on” during this process of creation and not observe as an outsider.

I hope this helps a bit. Please let me know if you had any further insights.

This is a good dream. Think long and hard about it.

    Regards
    Tersia

I constantly dream about my son dying again.

Two nights ago I dreamt that I was burying him - we were in church. Big Wesley (late son) was lying on a bed but the small Wesley was teasing him (I could see small Wesley so clearly - like when he was small) Big Wesley was trying to look at me while small Wes was teasing him

    What do this mean?

    Dear Des

The emotions during the dream are more important than the dream event. If I have to guess; there was a little teasing by Small Wesley and Big Wesley was lying on a bed (not in a coffin) looking at you. The emotions, looking at the above, were not as raw and somber as what one would expect at the funeral of a child.

Your dream could indicate a few things:

The following symbolism comes up for me. What they mean to you personally is more important:
... The “funeral” is a symbol of letting go – saying goodbye – finalizing things.
... The “bed” symbolizes rest – being peaceful.
... The “look” over the head of Small Wesley – an unspoken pact between two people.
... “Little Wesley” could symbolize – fun, happy times, innocence, what was.
... When a child “Teases” an adult, he feels safe and trusts the adults response.
... “The church” is also a place of peace and where you can find solace, companionship, understanding.

(It could be that Wesley is trying to tell you to remember him in good times.
That he is peaceful in another life/world/afterlife and that he is doing well where he is.
He could be telling you that he is busy, but aware of you longing for him and that he needs you to let go and allow him to move on.)

Can you work with this information and make it your own?

    Love
    Tersia
